– Learn to work with the land in a sacred way
– Remember how our ancestors would have worked with the land and how to become ‘native’ to the place where we live
– Explore to intuitively grow, manage forest, and make decisions about land use.
We know, at least intellectually, that we need to work with, rather than against, the natural world, yet given our conditioning, a real ability isn’t that easy. True intimacy with the natural world calls us to relinquish beliefs and values we are barely aware that we have. The reward is a deep personal transformation opening a foundation of interconnectedness we need to create a conscious, sustainable way of being.
Why is it so difficult for us to get to this ‘natural’ place of partnership, from where we all came?
The short answer is, because we’ve been off the path for about four thousand years. Our ‘superior’ and individualistic acculturation runs deeper than we might like to think. And this can prevent us from even starting.
The reality is, we need to work with ourselves before we can have any hope of working with Her in partnership. We need to be deprogrammed and then reprogrammed before we can even begin to approach the land in a sacred way. Before we can be there for Her. Then, from this place of love and respect our relationship with Her will grow. We begin to remember our indigenously and how to be native to the place where we live. The seeds from the fruit of that primary relationship will grow into a world of Harmony, a living Eden.
